Idlib’s Health Directorate opened health centres in Kafr Amim, Sheikh Idris, Tal al-Touqan and Abu al-Duhur on October 12, SANA reported. Local officials said the facilities were intended to improve access for residents, including families returning from displacement camps.

The Sheikh Idris centre offers reproductive and women’s health, internal medicine, pediatrics and emergency services. Its opening coordinator described a catchment of about 11 villages and approximately 35,000 residents. These figures concern that centre’s service area; they are not patient attendance totals or a province-wide population estimate.

Methodology

Counts are attributed to officials in SANA’s October 12 report. The village and resident estimates refer only to Sheikh Idris, not all four centres. They describe the service area, not treated patients, and must not be added to the facility count.
