Sudan's Urban Planning Ministry handed final designs for kiosks planned for women selling tea and food in Khartoum to the state government. Sudan News Agency reported on 15 October that the ministry had prepared three architectural models and identified suitable sites in each locality.

The ministry's media office described the project as a grant directed by the head of the Sovereignty Council: 3,500 kiosks are planned, with 500 in each of Khartoum State's seven localities. The report says designs are complete and sites identified; it does not say construction has started or stalls have been handed to vendors.
