CLiMIS published the South Sudan Meteorological Services’ (SSMS) rainfall outlook for 14–21 October on 15 October. The bulletin, derived from weekly forecasts by IGAD’s Climate Prediction and Applications Centre, expects more than 100 mm in Kaji-Keji, northern Tambura, southwestern Wau and southern Raja. It forecasts 50–100 mm in parts of Torit and Magwi and parts of Juba, Kajo-Keji, Lainya, Yei and Morobo.

The bulletin also places most of Western Equatoria, much of Wau and Raja, Aweil Centre and East, Abyei, Twic, Rubkona, Maiwut, parts of Ayod and Akobo, and parts of Pibor in the 50–100 mm band; most other areas are expected to receive less than 30 mm. These are forecasts for 14–21 October, not observed rainfall totals. SSMS says heavier rainfall could support crops, pasture and livestock water, while also raising localized flooding, erosion and waterlogging risks.
