Brazil’s National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) said rainfall would be uneven across the Centre-West during 14–21 October, in an outlook published on 14 October using its COSMO model. It forecast 20–60 millimetres of rain in Mato Grosso and average temperatures of 26–30°C, while noting lower soil-water availability in the state’s north and east.

Mato Grosso do Sul was forecast to receive 40–80 millimetres over the week, with totals possibly reaching 100 millimetres in some locations. Goiás and the Federal District were forecast to receive 10–40 millimetres. INMET said rain and soil moisture could support soybean planting in some areas, while irregular rainfall called for caution in drier parts of Mato Grosso and Goiás. These are model forecasts, not observed conditions.
