The International Organization for Migration described Ebola preparedness work at Juba airport and the Nimule, Kaya and Lasu border crossings. Health workers screen travellers, identify people who may need referral and share prevention information with communities along the routes.
IOM reported that about 700,000 travellers had been screened in the first two months of the response and nearly half a million people had been reached with awareness work. South Sudan had recorded no confirmed Ebola virus disease case at the time of the report. The screening figures describe preparedness activity, not detected infections.
