A 12 October World Food Day summary from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia said the country’s 2025 food self-sufficiency rates were below 100% for the listed categories except honey. The office reported 85% for meat, 74% for cereals, 34% for potatoes, 32% for vegetables and 21% for fruit; honey production exceeded consumption by 33%.

The same release said food prices in September 2026 were 0.9% lower than a year earlier. That annual decline coexisted with increases of 22.2% for frozen fruit and 21.2% for fresh or chilled green leguminous vegetables. The self-sufficiency figures refer to calendar 2025 and were published before the 2025 supply-balance data were due to become final; the price figure compares September with September.
