SkyNRG announced on 28 September 2026 that it selected Technip Energies, Sasol and Topsoe as key partners for the initial engineering activities of the front-end engineering design (FEED) phase of Project Wigeon. The project is its planned sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) facility at the Port of Walla Walla in Washington State. SkyNRG described FEED as the phase that develops the project’s engineering, cost and execution plans ahead of a future final investment decision.

Topsoe and Sasol have each signed a Basic Engineering Design Package agreement with SkyNRG covering technology licenses, engineering design and technical services. The facility will combine Topsoe’s SynCOR and hydroprocessing technologies with Sasol’s Fischer-Tropsch technology to convert renewable natural gas into SAF. SkyNRG said Technip Energies brings experience with both technologies and modularisation capabilities, and that its appointment builds on the relationship from the DSL-01 plant under construction in Delfzijl, the Netherlands.

Project Wigeon is designed to produce 50 million gallons (143 kt) of SAF annually. SkyNRG said key permitting is secured and start-up is targeted for 2031. The release describes selections for FEED and does not announce an engineering, procurement and construction contract or any contract value.
