Saipem announced its selection for Aduro’s first industrial facility at Chemelot on August 19. The plastic-to-chemical-feedstock plan has an initial 10,000-tonne annual capacity.
The announcement concerns preliminary services; later construction is a separate stage. Technical assessment should connect waste variability, product acceptance requirements and operating capacity. Scaling a pilot technology does not itself establish the start of commercial production.
In an IEA scenario, electricity could cost-effectively supply 33 percent of final energy use by 2035; projected import savings are not realized outcomes.
