IllustrationTurkStat’s September 2026 sector-confidence release showed business assessments moving in different directions. The seasonally adjusted retail-trade confidence index rose from 110.1 in August to 111.3 in September, a monthly increase of 1.1%.
The services confidence index stayed at 111.9 in both months. Construction confidence eased from 83.1 to 83.0, a decline of 0.2%. The same release therefore combined a retail improvement with unchanged services sentiment and a small construction decline.
Confidence indexes are survey-based measures of assessments and expectations. The rise in the retail index does not mean realised sales volume increased by the same rate, just as the construction reading does not quantify an equivalent change in actual output. The figures track monthly sentiment rather than completed activity.
