Peak Energy announced on 21 October that it closed a Series B round led by GM Ventures, securing $108 million in new financing. It plans to use the funds to expand US manufacturing, fulfil customer orders and bring its passively cooled sodium-ion storage systems to the data-center market.

The company said production at its 4 GWh Sacramento factory is planned to begin in the first quarter of 2027. That is planned manufacturing capacity; the more than $1 billion of customer commitments cited in the announcement are not presented as realized sales revenue.
