Statistics Norway (SSB) released September figures for its residential construction cost index on October 13. The national index tracks prices of inputs used to build homes; it excludes changes in productivity and profit margins. The overall index stood at 160.3, with 2015 set to 100.

Total residential construction costs increased 0.3% from August and 4.1% from September 2025. Material costs rose 0.2% month on month and 2.5% year on year, while the index for multi-dwelling houses was up 5.4% annually. SSB says the index is used mainly to adjust costs in construction contracts.
