Norway’s Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) found 26 non-compliances in an audit of Statkraft’s dam-safety work in Sauda and 20 in northern Norway. It described the findings as very serious, citing gaps in follow-up of technical requirements, internal control, monitoring and safety assessments.
NVE said recurring findings across the two parts of the company pointed to broader organizational shortcomings rather than isolated facilities.
