Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security announced a two-day programme for World Food Day 2026 in collaboration with FAO and other stakeholders. In its 14 October notice, the ministry scheduled visits on 15 October to cluster farms, selected secondary-school farmers and internally displaced people in the Federal Capital Territory, alongside a mechanization clinic.

The ministry also scheduled an awareness walk in Abuja on the morning of 16 October and a ministerial press briefing that afternoon. The notice sets out the programme; it does not establish that the visits or clinic took place. This year’s theme is “Innovate Today, Nourish Tomorrow”; the ministry also described it as the 81st anniversary of FAO’s founding and the 46th observance in Nigeria.
