RMRDC’s Taraba coordinating office met the state commissioner for commerce, trade and industry, James Philip, in Jalingo to discuss ways of assessing the state’s resources. The council’s October 6 report said the discussion concerned possible support for the 2026–2031 TETIA “From Potential to Production” framework, including resource mapping, value-chain development, investment concepts and technical assistance to small businesses.

The parties proposed considering coffee, tea, cocoa, oil palm, shea, rice and selected minerals, and identifying five to seven priority chains for detailed assessment. They also discussed reviewing dormant industrial facilities for capacity and rehabilitation needs. The report describes planning and assessment, not completed feasibility studies, approved funding or factory decisions.
