The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security met with state governments, non-state actors and development partners in Maiduguri on 5 October to advance implementation of the Kampala CAADP Declaration. The framework covers the 2026–2035 period and priorities from sustainable production to food security, trade, resilience and governance.

Minister Abubakar Kyari said early fertilizer procurement had generated ₦61.58 billion in savings for the 2026 season and that Nigeria remained on course for a 1.1 million-tonne fertilizer programme. The savings and programme volume are the minister’s statements about a government initiative; they are not an independent price index or a measure of delivered fertilizer.
