In the High Commission for Planning’s Q3 2026 household survey, 95.9% of respondents said food prices had risen over the previous 12 months, while 0.4% said they had fallen. For the next 12 months, 77.9% expected increases, 21.1% expected no change and 1.0% expected declines. These are household perceptions, not consumer-price-index measurements.
The Household Confidence Index stood at 59.2 points, below 60.1 in Q2 but above 53.6 in Q3 2025. HCP says the questions are qualitative, with three response options; opinion balances are calculated as the share reporting improvement minus the share reporting deterioration.
