Mexico’s finance ministry said IMF staff projected real GDP growth of 1.5% in 2026 and 1.8% in 2027 after completing the Fund’s 2026 Article IV mission. The ministry’s October 2 release described the outlook as strengthening, supported in part by external trade.

The SHCP statement also relayed staff views on fiscal consolidation, financial-system resilience and inflation near the central bank’s target. The IMF statement was still listed as pending on the ministry page when reviewed, so these findings are reported as SHCP’s account of the staff mission, not a completed IMF Board assessment.
