Mexico’s airports handled 128.3 million passengers from January through August 2026, according to figures from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency cited by the tourism ministry. The total comprised 86.8 million domestic and 41.5 million international passengers.
Among the 15 busiest airports, Querétaro recorded the fastest year-on-year growth over the eight-month period at 11.7%, followed by Felipe Ángeles International Airport at 9.6% and Mérida at 7.0%. Passenger traffic in August alone was 16.8 million, 2.7% above August 2025.
