Malaysia keeps 2026 list of systemically important domestic banks unchanged

Malayan Banking Berhad’s requirement remains 1.0% of risk-weighted assets. CIMB Group Holdings Berhad and Public Bank Berhad each remain subject to a 0.5% requirement, according to the central bank’s notice.

BNM said it will communicate future annual assessment outcomes by public notice unless it says otherwise. The assessment concerns regulatory designation and capital buffers; it is not a report on the banks’ balance-sheet performance.
