West Irbid Municipality and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) signed a EUR 310,000 support agreement on 15 October to modernise the municipality's container-manufacturing facility. Petra also reported the amount as JOD 235,000.

The funding is intended for core infrastructure upgrades, advanced machinery and technical and administrative improvements. The head of the municipal committee said higher plant throughput would help meet local demand for waste-management equipment and use municipal resources more efficiently; the report does not say that capacity has already increased.
