Jordan’s 2027–2029 Food Industry Strategy describes about 2,600 enterprises and more than 66,500 direct jobs, according to Petra’s October 18 report. Prepared by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply with the Jordan Chamber of Industry, the document puts annual gross output at JOD4.5 billion and value added at JOD1.8 billion; these are different economic measures.
The strategy reports sector exports of JOD823 million in 2024 and JOD443 million in the first half of 2025. Those periods differ in length and do not form a direct growth comparison. It calls for export-market diversification and structural value creation rather than expansion based only on volume. The report does not specify the reference year for the general sector-size figures.
