Jordan grants conditional approval for Afaq Energy gas-distributor acquisition

Jordan’s Industry, Trade and Supply Minister conditionally approved Afaq Energy’s acquisition of full ownership of Advanced Central Gas LLC. Petra reported on 13 October that Decision No. 3 of 2026 followed a Competition Protection Department review; the report did not say the acquisition had been completed.
The conditions cap payment terms at 30 days, prohibit direct or indirect discounts on gas supply, and bar free network replacement tied to exclusive supply agreements with micro and small businesses. They also require administrative and marketing separation among Afaq-owned distributors and protection of workers’ rights; violations can invalidate approval.
