Confesercenti delivers 56,611 signatures for local-commerce bill proposal

At the Aperti Forum in Rome on 10 October 2026, Confesercenti delivered 56,611 signatures for a popular-initiative bill proposal on urban regeneration and proximity commerce to parliamentary-relations undersecretary Paolo Barelli. The association said the required signature threshold had been reached two months before the 25 November deadline.
The proposal would create “Proximity Special Economic Zones” (ZESpro), a dedicated fund and a national observatory at MIMIT to support local businesses. It remains a proposal for parliamentary consideration, not an enacted law.
