The Islamic Development Bank Institute announced Prosper MSMEs on October 12, a programme on Islamic digital financial services for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The agreement was signed on September 21 by the IsDB Institute and the Universal Postal Union (UPU), which will contribute postal-sector expertise and data networks. The first phase is a regulatory assessment in eight selected IsDB member countries. The announcement does not name the countries or state an IsDB financing amount.

The second phase will analyse markets, while country proposals and a master report are programme-wide outputs. These are planned activities, not completed assessments or financing already delivered to businesses. The release gives no timetable or country-level findings, so the eventual policy or lending effects cannot yet be assessed.
