Iraq’s Ministry of Agriculture announced a 1.8 million-dunam crop plan for the 2026 summer season. A 19 June Arabic report by the Iraqi News Agency said the plan also eased some restrictions on rice planting in light of water conditions.

Officials said storage had exceeded three billion cubic metres following rainfall and higher flows in the Tigris-Euphrates system. Planned acreage is not a completed harvest or proof that all of the land was planted.
