India’s Panchayati Raj ministry announced on 29 October that a national People’s Plan Campaign workshop would be held in New Delhi on 30 October 2026. Around 400 participants are expected, with the aim of helping local councils prepare development plans for financial year 2027–28.
The planned agenda covers grant use, locally raised revenue, the quality of village-level plans and digital submission through eGramSwaraj. The ministry also expects a campaign booklet to be released and a memorandum on electric-vehicle charging and battery-swapping stations to be signed during the event.
These are scheduled activities, not confirmation that the workshop or signing has already occurred. The campaign itself began on 2 October and supports planning at village, block and district levels. The announcement does not identify how many charging stations would be installed or give a construction funding total.
