The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) released the figures at an event marking three years of operations on 17 October. Service began in October 2023 on a 17-kilometre priority section between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot; the full 82-kilometre corridor opened in February 2026. NCRTC said the system currently serves more than 110,000 commuters a day and has recorded a single-day peak of about 168,000.
The figure of more than 110,000 daily commuters describes the operator’s current service level; the roughly 168,000 figure is a separate single-day record. NCRTC said two proposed corridors were likely to receive approval soon, while two others remained at the detailed-project-report stage.

Methodology
Source: NCRTC’s 18 October 2026 release. The source’s 4.5 crore journeys are expressed as 45 million journeys, an exact scale equivalence. The operator qualified the cumulative and daily figures as “over” and the peak as “around”; those qualifiers remain in separate text cells. Journeys are not converted into unique people.
