Mumbai tax academy and law university sign five-year cooperation MoU
The National Academy of Direct Taxes’ regional campus in Mumbai and Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai, signed a five-year memorandum of understanding on 30 October. India’s finance ministry said the agreement creates a framework for academic cooperation, professional training and capacity building.

The planned activities include faculty exchanges, lectures, workshops, joint training, certificate courses, research and publications. The university will contribute legal expertise, including tax litigation, corporate law and insolvency, while the tax academy will contribute experience in tax administration, investigation, digital evidence and international taxation.
The institutions will explore doctoral-study opportunities for eligible Income Tax Department officers and trainees. The academy may also offer internships to university students. These are prospective opportunities within the cooperation framework, rather than confirmed admissions or guaranteed internship places; the release does not announce a contract price.
