IBM announced on October 12 that Mashreq, a United Arab Emirates bank, is piloting IBM Bob for software engineering. The pilot covers integration design, development, code review and production troubleshooting.

IBM says Mashreq’s integration platform handles an average of 650 transactions per second and that the pilot cut time spent on design and troubleshooting by up to 60–70%. Some tasks taking two or three hours were completed in minutes, the company said. These are company-reported pilot results, not independent measurements.
