The Emirates News Agency reported on 20 October that International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts had carried out an advisory mission at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant from 12 to 20 October. Requested by the UAE government, the mission reviewed plant safety arrangements, emergency preparedness and response capabilities.

WAM said the IAEA team identified good practices and recommendations for further improvement, including strengthening emergency arrangements, critical-infrastructure resilience and coordination among stakeholders. The report also says the agency reviewed the response to a May drone strike targeting an electrical generator outside the plant’s inner perimeter.
