German household gas prices fell 5.3% in the first half
The average was 11.58 euro cents per kWh; household electricity prices also fell 6.4% half on half.

Private households in Germany paid an average 11.58 euro cents per kilowatt-hour for natural gas in the first half of 2026. In its half-year statistics published on 30 September, Destatis said the price was 5.3% below the second half of 2025 and 4.5% below the first half of 2025.
The first-half price was still 80.7% above the same period in 2021. Household electricity averaged 37.97 euro cents per kilowatt-hour, down 6.4% from the second half of 2025. These are consumer prices, not wholesale-market quotations.
