Territorial development and decentralisation minister Françoise Gatel plans to bring Corsican representatives together at the Hôtel de Roquelaure. The strategic committee is to include parliamentarians, territorial leaders, political-group representatives, mayors’ associations, the mayors of Ajaccio and Bastia, and state representatives. The release gives no exact date for that meeting.
The government then intends to meet parliamentary-group leaders and, if the parties wish, arrange joint exchanges with Corsican representatives. It says the text would subsequently return to the National Assembly under Article 89 of the Constitution. Legislative and regulatory powers remain part of the proposed autonomy framework, with conditions to be defined in an organic law; this announcement is not an enacted constitutional amendment.
