The Fluor and Balfour Beatty joint venture announced the September 24 opening ceremony for Austin’s Oak Hill Parkway. The Texas Department of Transportation project reconstructed and widened approximately seven miles of the US 290 and SH 71 corridor.

The $677 million project’s roadway system is open to traffic. Landscaping, paving and striping work continues, with final completion anticipated at year-end. The opening therefore represents a traffic milestone rather than completion of every activity or a new contract award.
