Euro area retail volume falls 0.6% in July

The monthly decline across the EU was estimated at 0.4%.

Seasonally adjusted retail trade volume fell by 0.6% in the euro area in July 2026 compared with June, according to the 4 September release. The EU decline was 0.4%.

Calendar-adjusted volume rose by 0.6% in the euro area and 1.0% in the EU over the annual comparison. These first estimates measure sales volume, rather than growth in monetary turnover.
