Euro area rate on new home loans rose to 3.60%

The ECB’s August data showed the composite rate on new household loans for house purchase up 6 basis points to 3.60%; the composite cost of new corporate borrowing held at 3.77%.

The composite rate on new household time deposits rose 4 basis points to 2.18%. The rate on new corporate time deposits was 2.25%, while the rate on overnight corporate deposits stood at 0.61%.

These are composite euro area rates for new business between banks and customers. Loan pricing can vary with loan size, the initial rate fixation period and country mix; the headline figures do not represent the rate offered to every borrower.
