EU allocates €10 million for Balkan Medical Task Force

The Council of the EU adopted a €10 million assistance measure for the Balkan Medical Task Force under the European Peace Facility on 2 October 2026. The task force combines regional partners’ military medical capabilities to provide medical support to international operations.

The Council said the new support would also improve the force’s ability to protect civilians during natural or man-made disasters. Funding covers field hospitals, military medical vehicles, communications and information systems, and related supplies, services and technical training where needed. The decision brings EU support to the task force through the facility to €16 million in total.
