The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said on 21 October that funding shortfalls continue to constrain the humanitarian response in northern Ethiopia. In Amhara, only 16 of the 57 mobile health and nutrition teams considered necessary are operating.

OCHA said 10 of those 16 teams were expected to stop operating by the end of October. In Tigray, additional medical, nutrition and other essential supplies have reached communities and health facilities; in Amhara, food partners are preparing assistance for about 100,000 people in Wag Hamra and North Wollo.
