Equitrans filed a request with FERC on 7 October to plug and abandon its Pratt 3647 natural gas storage well, remove associated valves and abandon about 485 feet of six-inch pipeline. The facilities are in Greene and Washington counties, Pennsylvania.

The company said the work would meet federal pipeline safety requirements for storage wells and estimated its cost at about $1.2 million. This is a request for authorization, not an approval. The deadline for protests, intervention motions and comments is 14 December 2026.
