Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said on 20 October that Eni and Agiba Petroleum, its joint venture with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, had begun commissioning Phase Two of the Meliha project in the Western Desert. The new hub is intended to increase processing capacity for gas from fields in the concession.

The facility is designed to process up to 100 million standard cubic feet of gas a day. The phase includes development wells, gathering networks, main transport lines and a dedicated export line. The announcement reports commissioning activity, not actual throughput or a production start date.
