Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said Minister Karim Badawi met Arcius Energy CEO Nasser Saif Al-Yafei in Athens on October 7. The meeting took place on the sidelines of a high-level Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum roundtable. They discussed the status of the company's Egyptian activities and plans to accelerate exploration, appraisal and gas-field development.

The ministry said the discussion reviewed development plans for the Harmattan gas field and ways to accelerate its production-start timeline. Al-Yafei said the company aims to increase its output in Egypt during 2027–2030. The statement gave no Harmattan production volume or firm start date, so the plans should not be read as current output or an approved investment decision.
