Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity will present 100 university projects at a summit scheduled for November 18–21, 2026, the Emirates News Agency reported on October 23. The exhibition’s projects were selected from thousands of submissions by academics representing about 1,000 universities in more than 120 countries, according to the announcement.

This year’s cohort includes teams from more than 70 universities in 33 countries. The programme is organised by Art Dubai Group with Dubai Future Foundation, Dubai International Financial Centre and the Hussain Sajwani–DAMAC Foundation. The event will take place as part of Dubai Future Week at Emirates Towers and the Museum of the Future.

The announcement describes projects across healthcare, agriculture, water, energy, transport, environment and civil society. Examples include MetCycle, which is presented as a process that dissolves materials from spent batteries in under 15 minutes at room temperature, and AlgaePalm, which aims to produce an alternative to palm oil using UAE microalgae grown in saltwater. These are project descriptions supplied by the organisers, not independently evaluated performance results.

Other examples address urban climate and infrastructure. Greenery Scanner uses cameras on vehicles to monitor street-tree health, while Coco: Heat Minimizer identifies cooler walking routes during heatwaves. SolarSkin is described as a system that switches solar panels between generating electricity and heating indoor spaces. The release does not provide test conditions, efficiency results or deployment status for these projects.

The summit also plans to recognise five projects, one in each of the initiative’s five categories. Organisers say a venture-building programme offers selected academic teams funding, business expertise and support to test feasibility, form companies and develop industry partnerships. The announcement does not state how many teams will receive support or the amount of funding available.

The project count and geographic reach indicate the scale of the exhibition selection, but they do not measure commercial readiness or real-world impact. The event may give teams a venue to demonstrate work and connect with partners; the source describes that purpose and planned programme, while evidence on adoption, investment or measurable results would come later.

The organisers say the cohort spans more than 70 universities in 33 countries, including institutions in the UAE and universities in Ghana, Peru, Morocco and Chile. That is a description of where the teams study, not evidence that all projects will be deployed in Dubai. The exhibition is scheduled for November 18–21 at Emirates Towers and the Museum of the Future, as part of Dubai Future Week, whose 2026 programme is expected by organisers to attract more than 10,000 people. The attendance figure is a forecast, not a completed count.
