Daniel Epembe, secretary-general of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Ministry of Planning, discussed the role of the country’s second general population and housing census in development planning at ExpoBeton in Kinshasa on October 10. Agence Congolaise de Presse reported that the census exercise is still under way.

Epembe said cartographers are working in the field to define enumeration areas. The ministry launched that mapping exercise in Kinshasa on September 28. The remarks report a preparatory stage, not a population result or a completed census.
