DEWA says digital guarantee system cuts processing time by 95%

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) said on October 3 that its Smart Bank Guarantee System has cut transaction turnaround time by 95% and reduced reliance on physical bank guarantees by 74%. The system manages the guarantee lifecycle through digital processing, verification and tracking.

DEWA said the platform processes approximately 2,500 guarantees annually, with a total value of around AED1 billion. The authority described the changes as system performance results; its announcement did not specify the measurement period or provide a comparison baseline for the two percentage reductions.
