CERN said the Large Hadron Collider has produced about one exabyte of data and that the High-Luminosity LHC is expected to raise collision counts tenfold around 2030. Those figures describe CERN’s scale and future programme; the partnership announcement does not report a completed model or validated performance result.

Methodology

The LHC data volume is CERN’s approximate figure; one exabyte is converted to 1,000,000 terabytes. The collision increase is a projection.

CEA describes UFOund AI tool for tracking particles in WEST fusion plasma

France’s CEA described UFOund on 15 October, an AI tool that automatically detects particles in infrared images from the WEST tokamak. Developed by CEA-IRFM, it analyses views from 12 wall-protection cameras after experiments and records particle locations and trajectories.
