Brazil’s Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) released August 2026 results from its Monthly Industrial Survey on October 2. The institute reported a 0.6% fall in monthly industrial production from July, seasonally adjusted.

IBGE’s PIM-PF survey tracks short-term movements in industrial production through an index covering manufacturing and extractive industries. A seasonally adjusted monthly change is a different measure from a year-on-year comparison or an absolute physical volume of production.
