Brazil’s Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) said on 15 October that it attended the IOSCO TechSprint Demo Day awards in Madrid on 8 October. The IOSCO programme focused on “Financial Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” and concluded during World Investor Week 2026. CVM represents Brazil on IOSCO’s Committee on Retail Investors through its investor guidance and sustainable finance unit.

Teams worked online from May to October to develop prototypes that regulators and other stakeholders could use to help retail investors identify AI-generated financial scams and strengthen investor education. CVM reported 14 teams and six award categories: two for solutions closest to implementation and four cross-cutting categories, including global adaptability, behavioural impact, trust and transparency, and accessibility. India’s SEBI regulator received three awards through two teams; those teams and a South African team formed by a small enterprise will present their proposals to the IOSCO Board.
