Brazil’s National Data Protection Authority published its second interim report on the regulatory sandbox for artificial intelligence and data protection on October 9. The pilot follows three participants—Metatext, Synapse AI and Prevvine Tecnologia—whose systems process personal data in finance, mobility and health.

At this stage, the companies received training in cybersecurity, risk management and regulatory compliance. Their products underwent security and legal-compliance tests, with critical issues sent through improvement and retesting cycles. ANPD says the work is intended to inform future regulatory policy; participation in the sandbox is not blanket approval of the systems.
