On 9 October, ANP said it had approved geological, geophysical and preliminary economic studies for the Oeste de Jubarte block in the Campos Basin. The studied area covers about 690 square kilometres and was classified by the agency as having high exploration potential.

The official estimate is an unrisked mean total volume on the order of tens of millions of barrels of oil equivalent. Documents will go to the Ministry of Mines and Energy; approval does not guarantee a full-area offer, auction date or discovery.
