Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said on September 29 that Türkiye aims for TPAO to produce one million barrels a day in oil and natural gas. He described the current combined domestic and overseas figure as approximately 350,000 barrels.
He outlined a range of 550,000–600,000 barrels for 2028. These figures describe the minister’s production roadmap, with the one-million figure remaining a goal. The stated objective is self-sufficiency through domestic production and overseas operations.
In an IEA scenario, electricity could cost-effectively supply 33 percent of final energy use by 2035; projected import savings are not realized outcomes.
The utility’s long-term plan projects lower emissions despite rising electricity demand; its solar, battery and reverse-osmosis targets are not completed outcomes.
