Azerbaijan retail turnover rises 3.8% in real terms in January–September
The statistics committee reported real growth of 1.4% in food sales and 6.7% in non-food sales.

Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee said consumers bought AZN 50.8 billion of goods through the retail network in January–September 2026. Turnover rose 3.8% in real terms from the same period of 2025. Food, beverages and tobacco accounted for AZN 27.5 billion, while non-food products totalled AZN 23.3 billion.
The committee reported real growth of 1.4% for food products, 1.3% for beverages and tobacco, and 4% for motor fuel. Turnover in computers, telecommunications equipment and printing products rose 33.1%, while pharmaceutical products and medical equipment rose 21.5%. Average monthly purchases per person were AZN 549.2; that is a current-price spending amount and is distinct from the real turnover changes.
